Dr Shekha Bhuva is a highly experienced Specialist Periodontist and Implant Dentist, known for her clinical precision, gentle manner and commitment to delivering outstanding patient outcomes. With a career spanning specialist hospitals, teaching and private practice, she brings both depth of knowledge and a genuinely warm, personal approach to every consultation.

Implant dentistry

Dr Bhuva has a particular interest in dental implantology, providing comprehensive solutions from single tooth replacements to complex full mouth procedures. Whether you need a straightforward implant or a more involved treatment plan, she will guide you through every step with clarity and care.

Periodontal care

She is fully adept at managing all manner of periodontal and gum issues, including non-surgical, surgical and aesthetic treatments, as well as the treatment of failing implants. Her goal is always to preserve your natural teeth wherever possible and to restore your confidence in your smile.

Training and background

After graduating from Guy's, King's and St Thomas' Dental Hospital, Dr Bhuva undertook extensive postgraduate training, including hospital roles in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery and Restorative Dentistry. She completed her Master's in Clinical Dentistry (Periodontology) with distinction at Guy's Hospital and is on the specialist register. She has worked at both the Eastman Dental Hospital and Guy's Hospital, providing treatment for patients and teaching postgraduate students.

Teaching and professional leadership

Outside clinical practice, Dr Bhuva has served on the BSP Council for over 7 years, contributing to the advancement of periodontal education and clinical standards in the UK. She has also worked as an examiner for postgraduate dental qualifications and postgraduate revision courses, helping to shape the next generation of dental professionals.

Shekha is actively involved in the renowned implant teaching academy The Global Implant Institute.

Giving back

Dr Bhuva has been involved in multiple charity dental missions, including trips to Nepal and Vietnam, bringing essential dental care to communities who need it most.

Beyond the clinic

She has two daughters, is a keen runner and is always looking for her next adventure. To name some more recent accomplishments, she completed the London Marathon in 2023, The Royal Parks Half Marathon in 2024 and Tough Mudder in 2025.
